Ahmad Abdal Qader

PhD candidate · biomedical engineering · Georgia Tech and Emory · Systems Neural Engineering Lab

I work on machine learning for noisy biological time series: sequence models, transfer across modalities, generalizing under distribution shift, unsupervised structure discovery, and the systems that run them in a closed loop. Most of it is intracortical and surface EMG decoding, run online with people with paralysis.

models
sequence-to-sequence, state-space models, domain transfer, unsupervised segmentation
systems
real-time inference, closed-loop deployment, multi-stream synchronization
modalities
intracortical signals, surface EMG, 3D depth video, one-photon imaging
